Electric guitar for METAL?

ok this is asked once a day but the variables change.i'm in a jam band, we're all metal fans and though we lack a bist we're gonna do this man, i mean we're like sittin' there listenin to metal and my fellow guitarist and bud says like"dude let's start a band..." and i'm like "**** yeah", but the thing is we play acoustic we found a drummer who is like the only one with advanced skills he's been drumming for two-three years he's pretty good , we've been playin acoustic 5 months(roughly), the thing is we listen to any kind of metal from guns'n'roses, all the way up to korn and soad, so we thought i'd get an ibanez or some good alternative metal/nu metal(although i don't like the term nu metal) guitar, playing lead for those kinda songs and he'd get like a jackson and he'd do the more traditional heavy metal, old school stuff and play lead for those songs, which is his style so reccomend anything, my budget is like 300-400$ his is probably like 200$ i mean amp and everything,thx!
