Credit card debt?

Well I'm not in debt, my father is and that put our family in jeopardy. We are In debt with the credit card companys and morgage payments. My dad is considering bankrupsy. I heard about this book that tells you how to cut your bills and debt in half. Idk if its true but if anybody knows how to get rid of debt or cut the payments in half, la tell me cuz that could help my family and keep us from bankrupsy, plz help
