What does a basketball mom do?

I've just been asked to be the team mom to my son's basketball team. My son is 9 years old. The coach is a teenager new to coaching as well. I would like this to be an enjoyable season for all the kids and parents, but i know most people are limited on time and money in these times. Any ideas on introducing myself and arranging snacks, end of the season banquet, and gift for coach?
