Difference between pipe gloves and regular mitts/gloves?

Pipe gloves are thinner to give better tactile response and have sticky palms and fingers to hold grabs better. The wax doesn;t make pipe gloves slide as much. They are not as well insulated or waterproof as standard gloves, so I wouldn't recommend them for regular riding
